Summerwind Elementary School, built in 1974, is located in West Boise.  Our award winning school hosts 52 staff members and 410 students.  The Math and Science Academy is housed at Summerwind.  This magnet program includes one classroom at each grade level, grades kindergarten through fifth grade, focusing instruction on the areas of math and science. 

At Summerwind Elementary, we celebrate student success in many ways.  We offer a Citizenship Program where students are honored for modeling our weekly character trait understudy.  We also host a running program where students who survive our "Survivor Island" track are recognized for miles accummulated.  Additionally, we honor our readers with our "Passport Reader" program.  We end each month with a Spirit Assembly where we recognize our amazing students, sing, tell silly riddles and jokes, and perform.  Spirit Assemblies are fun for people of all sizes, so join us!
