Year-round calendar offered

Seven Oaks School is an accredited public school that serves children in preschool through fifth grade. We’re located in Eagle, Idaho, which is a suburb to Boise, our state’s capital city.

The school was opened in the fall of 1997 as one of four modified calendar schools in Joint School District No. 2. It’s our belief that having a modified calendar gives students more opportunities for learning throughout the entire year. Our students do not have long breaks like students in traditional schools experience during summer vacation. Instead, the breaks are shorter in duration. As a result, the instructional staff spends less time reviewing concepts from the previous year and moves quickly into new learning.

Our school offers students rigor in academics, as well as varied opportunities to participate in community service, extra-curricular activities, and the fine arts. A complete review of our curriculum is available for your review on our district web page. It provides an overview of grade level expectations as well as more in-depth information regarding the curriculum for each subject area at all grade levels. The state’s achievement standards can also be accessed at this site.

The staff at Seven Oaks uses a collaborative model to analyze our student data. That data is then used to inform instruction, allowing us to adapt to student needs over time. They bring a high level of experience and expertise to the school. Further, they’re continually participating in professional development opportunities, resulting in a community of learners and leaders.

We also have an active School Improvement Team whose purpose is to continually improve our ability to improve student learning. This team’s membership is a representative group. It consists of parents, teachers, assistants, specialists, administrators, and a community member. They monitor our school’s data in each of the following domains: school demographics, school characteristics, student learning, and stakeholder satisfaction. The data is collected and analyzed ongoingly. When opportunities to improve are identified, goals and action plans are developed, implemented and evaluated.

The community and school works together to provide students a safe, friendly, and encouraging learning environment. The parents in this school community are actively engaged as volunteers in the classrooms and in our Parent Teacher Association. They are truly partners in the education of their children as is evidenced by our Mission, Vision, and Seven Standards for Seven Oaks.
