Dear Mary Mac Families,
It is that time of year again when we celebrate drug-free lifestyles and healthy choices. We will be having several activities that week to promote healthy lifestyles. We will be having dress up days that week to encourage the students to remember their pledge to be drug free.
They are as follows:
DRESS UP DAYS
Monday, October 19: Hats Off to a Drug Free Lifestyle— Wear red and a hat!
Tuesday, October 20: Team Up Against Drugs— Dress up like your favorite sport or sports team!!
Wednesday, October 21: Don't Get Tied Up With Drugs - Wear a funny tie or scarf!
Thursday, October 22: Don't Get Mixed Up With Drugs— Wear mismatched clothes!
Friday, October 23: Sock It To Drugs—Wear crazy socks!
POSTER CONTEST
We will also be having a poster contest that week. These posters must be completed at home and turned in to classroom teachers by Wednesday, October 21.
NO LATE ENTRIES CAN BE ACCEPTED
There will be a small prize for all students who participate and larger prizes for the winners. There will be a grand prize for first place at each grade level. That prize will be to have your poster framed and hung in the school until next year’s Red Ribbon Week.
The rules are as follows:
- Must be completed on a regular sized piece of paper (8 1/2 by 11)
- Must fit this year’s theme “Team up against drugs”
- Must include the following information on the back:
- Student’s Name (First and Last)
- Teacher’s Name
- Grade Level
- Must be completed and turned in by Wednesday, October 21
These will be judged based on appearance, theme, student work, and following the contest rules.
Thanks for your help and support as we promote healthy choices and drug free lifestyles.
